The lodge is beautifully situated overlooking a busy wildlife watering-hole.

You can sit and watch as giraffe, zebra and gazelle graze quietly in front of Camp, elephant and buffalo regularly come to drink, and the bird-life is abundant.

Enasoit Camp is  a loved family home. Uniquely welcoming and has a magic all of its own. There are 6 double / twin tented cottages constructed from canvas, thatch and permanent local materials. Each room has a fireplace, a private veranda and a comfortable seating area with sheepskin sofas for morning tea and game viewing. Bathrooms are en-suite with flush toilets and hot-pressure showers.

Life in camp revolves around the spacious mess-tent. There is a wooden deck for game- viewing and drinks, as well as a dining and sitting area with a fireplace for the cooler evenings. Our collection of old books on African wildlife and history can be enjoyed by the camp fire. The water-hole and salt licks, barely 50 metres away, are lit up at night and provide unparalleled nocturnal game viewing, cocktail in hand!

There is also a massage / spa room overlooking the wildlife watering-hole for those who feel like relaxing a bit more.

Good to know about Laikipia: This spectacular region is considered to be the gateway to Kenya’s wild, northern border country. Wild and sparsely populated, Laikipia is covered by large privately owned ranches. In most ranches the land is divided with free-flowing animals. In recent years, these wildlife has become a valuable asset.

Travel Ethics: In Masai Mara and Laikipia, water is a short supply, so use it sparingly. Masai’s are proud people, always ask before photographing. Bring small banknotes in local currency to shop for local crafts outside the villages. Shake hands with those you meet – a courtesy code here.

Mobile network and email: Email and internet access are available at the hotel. The mobile network works well.

Visa: Visitors to Kenya require a visa (some countries that are exempt). The passport must have at least two blank pages and six months’ validity. Single-entry visas are available upon arrival at Kenyan airports; however, Kenyan Immigration plans to end visas upon arrival in the near future. The traveler is responsible for the visa application.

You can either obtain a visa before departure or apply for a Kenyan visa online.

Currently, the application online is for “Single entry”. Visitors are requested to register their application in good time, as approval may take up to seven business days to process.

Packing: At safari in Laikipia you are usually 13-1500m above sea level, for that reason, evenings may be chilly. Bring a warmer sweater and good walking shoes. Bring a smaller backpack to carry such as water, binoculars, camera in. Soft bags are easier to pack in the cars you travel with, you luggage allowance is a max weight of 15kg pp. Mosquito nets are available, but please carry and use mosquito spray as well.

Local Currency: Kenyan Shilling

Note: Kenya has recently banned all plastic bags and this will be checked in customs. Bringing plastic bags into the country can lead to major fines.

Water: Clean water is available at the camp.

Security: Your security is our priority. In Nairobi, do not walk around alone and avoid some places down town as well as big crowds.
