This island remind you of the Jurassic Park. Maybe not what you would expect as the definition of a paradise island. But the fact is that Felicite is the island where Six Senses Zil Pasyon is located as beautiful and dramatic as in the movie. The surrounding granite blocks are huge and their curved shapes gives this island a much more dramatic look compared to the other 115 islands found in Seychelles.
The spa consist of five different sections. To reach them its an adventure in itself. You have to climbe hanging bridges in between granite blocks. There are many beautiful hotels in the West Indian Ocean but nothing else offers this. This place is magic beyond all expectations!

Sustainability:
In accordance with the commitment of the group, sustainability is an important manner at Six Senses Zil Pasyon. The main focus at this paradise island is restoration, support threatened ecosystems by relieving the island’s invasive species and creating real conservation value as well as propagation of rare local plants. The lodge manages its own osmosis plant reserve and water refinery that produces high quality drinking water without using plastic bottles. A chicken farm and an organic garden also supports the ultimate self-sufficiency regarding food and drinks at the island, which drastically reduces environmental impact.
Environment:
To support environmental and social sustainability efforts, guidelines and procedures have been developed in line with Six Sense standards. These guidelines are renewed annually to ensure that you are always up to date according to their strategies. Efforts are being made, as far as possible, on Seychelles to improve international legal environmental requirements, such as the environment, people, health and safety as well as hygiene and labor legislation. To the greatest extent possible, employment agreement should be given to locals of Seychelles.
Flora and Fauna:
The landscape concept of the hotel is habitat restoration. The authentic environment is supported by plants, bushes and trees native or endemic to the Seychelles. This distinguishes Six Senses Zil Pasyon from all other “artificial” landscapes found in other hotels in Seychellew. No exotic flowers will be imported to Félicité Island, although this is the fastest and easiest way to open up a resort. Based on the very first step, the landscape team had gathered seeds from other islands in the Seychelles and thanks to that they managed to reintroduce many native and endemic species to Félicité.
As a result of 8 years restaurering of the biodiversity of Félicité Island, Six Sense are proud to announce that the biodiversity of Félicité Island now are more varied and richer. Guests staying here can experience true endemic species of trees and plants. The habitats created in this process are productive which enable Six Sense to reintroduce the various endemic birds that once disappeared since their original habitats deteriorated. Examples of birds re-introduced are: Seychellshama, Seychelles Paradise Island, Seychelles Whiteye, Seychelles, Seychellfody. As a coastal environment, it is expected that seabirds once again begin to return in a larger scale to spend their life at Félicité, for example, the charismatic Fairy Tern, the white tailed tropical bird, wedge-tailed shearwater. Félicité has become the emerging”ecological jewel” in the Seychelles.
Energy saving projects:
Generating energy usually creates pollution and is the main cause of global warming. Six Senses Zil Pasyon has taken several steps to reduce energy use and instead rely on renewable energy.
Solar cells and solar energy is converted into dc energy which supplies the whole island. Water heater run by solar panels is used to heat water for the guest villas and the staff courter. Waste water is treated at Félicité Island, in a separate section and used as the island’s main irrigation system. A combined heat and electricity (CHP) technology utilizes the heat generated by power generators to produce hot water, achieving ninety percent efficiency and reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
Waste sorting:
Someone who has spent a lot of time abroad is probably disturbed by the apparent lack of sorting and recycling systems in the Seychelles. Seychelles produce a lot of waste per capita, but as the population is small, the overall amount has not been big enough to make exports economically profitable. The cost of exporting waste to recycling stations abroad are high, as well as carbon dioxide emissions and the recycling process itself.
Regarding the three R:s – REDUCE, RE-USE, and RECYCLE, the first option: REDUCE is always the best option. You can take part in this by purchasing only what you need, avoid plastic bags and by composting to avoid food waste etc. Seychelles currently lacks the ability to separate, collect and recycle or reuse materials generated by households and companies. Most resources that could be recycled or composted are often separated as waste and transported from the resorts and local islands to landfills. As the country develops, it seems unavoidable that more consumer goods become available, leading to increased consumption.
Six Senses Zil Pasyon is actively looking for ways to reduce waste and dispose of it properly:
They ask their suppliers to reduce packaging regarding deliveries. Paper used is eco-labeled and always reused or recycled to reduce the number of trees harvested. They are also trying to reduce the use of plastic bags as much as possible by using boxes or laundry bags that can be washed and reused. Both guests and hosts are provided with reusable glass-water bottles instead of disposable plastic bottles. Guests are invited to carry disposable and hazardous waste items back to their own countries, where recycling plants are more sophisticated.
As far as possible, rechargeable batteries, long-life energy-saving light bulbs and bulk purchases are used to avoid promotion of unnecessary packaging materials. Office paper, kitchen oil, wood waste and other materials are being reused which reduces the total amount of waste on the island.
A separate recycling corner has been created where the waste is separated into paper, plastic, metal, glass, organic and toxic waste.
A composting site has been built where all food waste from the kitchen and restaurants is composted along with garden waste. Composting soil is generated from this activity and reused in the garden.
Social responsibility:
Six Senses Zil Pasyon is committed to employ locals, a large number of employees are native Seychelles. The resort offers internships for high-performing students and internship opportunities for university students whose main subject is tourism. In addition, Six Senses Zil Pasyon has taken the opportunity to provide local schools and hospitals with water systems and solar water heaters.
