Fundu Lagoon is the epitome of a “barefoot luxury paradise” with a distinct Robinson Crusoe spirit in a remote and peaceful place. Here you can relax and unwind in a beautiful setting.
Fundu Lagoon’s main building is set under a thatched roof with wonderful views of the sea. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the main restaurant or at the pier. Some meals are served on the white sandy beach.
There is something extraordinary about looking out over the Indian Ocean while enjoying freshly picked fruits and vegetables from the nearby villages or tasting fish from the surrounding waters.
The kitchen at Fundu Lagoon is a fusion of Swahili and international food, with a selection of dishes.
The lodge has a fully equipped diving center which is PADI 5 star. You will be able to visit Misali Island, a pristine beach which is great for snorkeling and scuba diving. Other activities include Dhow cruises and canoe safaris through the mangroves.
There’s tremendous variety in the underwater scenery. Lush coral gardens that drop off plummeting to 800m, and frequent 30- to 40-metre visibility. Hawksbill and green turtles often swim and rest on the reefs. While in deeper water you might meet giant groupers, pelagic game fish (tuna, jacks, wahoo, big shoals of barracuda), manta and eagle rays and even various species of shark.
Fundu Lagoon also has a stunning infinity hillside swimming pool with a cocktail and snack bar overlooking the ocean!
There is also a lovely spa.
Here at Fundu Lagoon you will find exceptional fishing. A fully equipped Cobra Cat takes you on fishing trips. When fishing here, you follow the International Game Fishing Association’s rules for ethical fishing.
